North Carolina Disaster Relief Weekend

The devastation from Hurricane Helene is still impacting thousands of residents of Appalachia. Several members of our community have been deeply involved in the relief efforts since the early days of the disaster. Supplies and donations have been donated to the region from all over the country, but what is really need now is manpower! The Fellowship of Northern Traditions is organizing a Disaster Relief Weekend on December 7th and 8th to assist with debris removal, weatherproofing, and other relief efforts. We will be meeting at Camp Iron Horse in Hot Springs, North Carolina, where relief efforts will be organized by community members Nils, Heath, and Caleb.

Volunteers may attend for a single day or both days. A camp has been established for those who need a place to stay for the night. Longer-term volunteer opportunities are available. Since the camp is well-supplied, you will not need to bring much. Food and water will be provided; you may want to bring snacks to eat throughout the day. Wear warm clothes and sturdy boots. If staying the night, personal hygiene products and extra bedding are all you will need to bring. If you have a chainsaw or sledgehammer to assist with debris removal, those would also be good items to bring.

For additional information, please email Fellowship Leader Heath using the button below.

We deeply thank anyone who is able to donate their time to this important and selfless effort.
